At Zuri Feeds, our mission is to reduce waste in the fishing value chain, strengthen sustainable food systems, and provide affordable, high-quality feed solutions that empower farmers and coastal communities.
SeaVentures is a Kenyan blue-economy startup transforming post-harvest fish waste into high-quality organic animal feeds and fertilizers under our brand Zuri Feeds.
We operate a circular economic model that converts fish by-products (heads, bones, viscera) that would typically be discarded into valuable agricultural inputs. Founded in 2022 and fully operational since 2023, we're based in Mombasa and serve farmers across Kenya.
"Zuri" is a Swahili word meaning "good" or "beautiful". We chose this name because our feeds represent good nutrition, beautiful circular economy principles, and the transformation of waste into something valuable and beautiful for Kenyan agriculture.
Our production facility is located in Mombasa, Coastal Kenya. We source raw materials from fishing communities along the Kenyan coast and serve customers throughout Kenya, with expansion plans for East Africa.
SeaVentures was founded in 2022 with prototype development and became fully operational in 2023. While we're a relatively young company, our founder brings extensive expertise in marine biology and fisheries, and we've already served 100+ farmers across Kenya.
We're growing rapidly and are working toward full KEBS certification to meet the highest quality standards.
Zuri Feeds stands out in several key ways:
1. Fish-Based Protein: Unlike conventional feeds that rely heavily on imported soy or maize, our feeds contain 40-45% premium marine protein with complete amino acid profiles.
2. Sustainability: We upcycle 60-70% of fish waste that would otherwise pollute our oceans and coastlines. Every bag you buy helps reduce environmental waste.
3. Local Production: Made right here in Kenya, supporting local jobs and reducing dependence on imports.
We are currently working toward full KEBS (Kenya Bureau of Standards) certification.
In the meantime, our feeds are:

- Formulated in partnership with KALRO (Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization)
- Tested in collaboration with KMFRI (Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute)
